I’m Tristan, an aerospace engineering graduate focused on hands-on design, test, and integration work. My background includes internship experience, high-powered rocketry leadership, and UAV development, with an emphasis on practical problem-solving and working within real constraints.

Through internships, leadership roles, and project work, I have developed strong skills in CAD, CFD, electronics, fabrication, and technical problem-solving. I have worked on everything from refining burner systems and modeling fluid behavior to designing flight-critical avionics and building drones for cinematic videography. I also have experience leading teams, managing engineering projects, and balancing performance with budget and deadline constraints.

My background combines technical experience with communication, reliability, and teamwork, and I am interested in applying those skills to opportunities in aerospace, UAVs, test engineering, and systems development.

IREC 2025–2026

I served as Project Manager for Valkyrie, a 10,000-foot high-powered rocket, coordinating technical development across the major subsystems and ensuring the team stayed aligned with mission requirements, integration milestones, safety, and schedule. With a driving deliverable of live onboard video, I also served as the Avionics Senior Engineer, leading the design, testing, and integration of the flight-critical avionics system, including redundancy, power management, thermal control, and deployment support through the active CO2 pulse-cooling system.

Heavy lift, redundancy, low cost

Through collaboration with team members, I designed, constructed, and successfully flight-tested an eight-motor unmanned aircraft. This project aimed to demonstrate heavy-lift drone architecture, robust motor configuration, and payload options including live onboard video.

FPV Drones

Flight-ready, reliable systems

Designed and built FPV drones for cinematic videography with an engineering-first approach, balancing performance, reliability, and cost. My work included high-speed five-inch builds capable of around 80 mph for dynamic outdoor shots, as well as cinewhoops optimized for safe, smooth indoor flythroughs and controlled filming environments.

As sole proprietor of Spear Films, I marketed my services, conversed with clients to understand their needs, and delivered a final video product with the project budget. To do so I combined aerial drone, FPV drone, and handheld filming techniques.

Selas Heat Technology

At Selas Heat Technology, I tested and refined burner designs through iterative experimentation to support cost-reduction goals. I also modeled fluid mixtures in burner systems, compared simulation results with experimental data, and shared findings through technical drawings, reports, and test summaries.

Designed a low-cost, portable microphone system for a drums and guitar amps using off-the-shelf microphone capsules, with a focus on making the setup simple, easy to use, and practical for everyday recording or live use.

Three-piece Northeast Ohio performing band

Cofounded Sine Caterva from both a leadership and engineering standpoint by managing live sound wiring, coordinating device setup and maintenance, and organizing a dozen shows with venues over a six-month period on top of contributing to musical creativity.
